okay good morning everyone glad to see so many people showed up I think a few gonna triple in soon before we get started just a quick question who's here for the first time at a 'besides Wow so many bees first time was amazing okay another question who is not from Bavaria hey who is not from Germany okay who things there from the farthest away nobody thinks that right okay okay so for since we have so many so many first time is here I'm gonna introduce B sites in itself real quick first of all B sites is not just here munich you can find it all over the place literally it is a community driven and free conference so if you are in a
city and you don't have a besides by all means start one if you have questions you can ask us we'll willing to help but we're not willing to do the work for you we already have that here so besides is about sharing knowledge it's not about making money is about bringing people together and yes about socializing so you will have to do that here no way around it so much for b-sides I don't want to go into all the details we have a great organ here I was expecting that at the end of the day where things all right so this is the orga team but they're not the only ones who did all the work we also have volunteers so I
want to thank them as well
if you have any questions ask someone with a red shirt no matter if they're or got a more volunteers they will help you red shirt right I said red shirt because last year we had red sorry yellow shirt as someone with a yellow shirt you have a hard time finding someone with a red shirt so as one of those those people if you grab one of the volunteers and they cannot answer the question they will help you find someone who can okay so a couple of organizational things and rules first of all breaks and drinks there will be breaks coffee breaks and there will also be drinks and snacks please don't carry any of the snacks and drinks
into these rooms into the main conference rooms because Microsoft doesn't like that and we'd like to be on this menu again so we like to follow their rules if possible also regarding drinks please don't drink any alcohol on the venue before 6:00 p.m. so afterwards you're free to do whatever you want the conference is over over then we have lunch from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and you can find the cantina if you go in the in the main hall like just cross those stairs in the in the entrance in the back if you grab your food in the cantina please go past the hot wok it has the huge green bar at the top and go to the
windows at the end of these are the seats that have been reserved for the B sides so don't mix and mingle with the Microsoft folks please go to the dedicated area also there is a courtyard in the center of this building and while it is technically publicly accessible from the outside please don't go there using any of the doors that lead there from the building because most of them are alarm secured and we don't want to trip anything so please just don't go there we have no smoking areas here so there are no no ashtrays or something like that so if you have to go for a smoke please leave the venue through the main
exits and just cross the street to the to the sidewalk and smoke there yeah that is the only way that that this is you can find the restrooms in the back there so if you go outside of the main room and just follow the follow the signs basically you can find on the left a smaller room and there the restrooms we have a no recording and no photos sign that we will put on here if the speaker doesn't want the talk recorded so please if that sign is there the first of all the talk will not be recorded by Cooper but also please don't take any pictures if you see that sign we have a code of conduct that you all
have read I know so because you all said yes when you got your ticket in case you forgot what's in there first of all be excellent or get out so that should be common sense but everybody is here to have a great time to learn and to meet people so don't be a douche bag if you are then chances are we gonna have to kick you out and we don't want to do that so please everyone just be if you see something say something in general you can always talk to any of the the organizer volunteer folks but for code of conduct problems like if you see harassment or anything or if you're being arrests you can always talk to
these three people because they're the code of conduct specialists here so you can talk to a Jen Claudia and Morton if you don't find them ask any one of the orga team or volunteers to help help you find them obviously a lot of people have been involved in this conference and it is a lot of work so I want to thank a couple of people and I had to write it down because it's just too many people involved by now first of all I wanted to thank all the speakers that are here today to present their their talks but I also want to thank the workshop organizers that have been here all day yesterday so that was a great day and
they did a lot of work as well I already mentioned the volunteers they they obviously helped us they put together all the bags that you're now carrying so make sure to thank them and we have a lot of cfp submissions so we had I think 52 submissions for talks which is amazing for such a small conference as ours there went a lot of work into those submissions by all the people that wanted to present here so yeah we're really glad that we had that we had so much of a choice and it really was a lot of good quality content so it's not like we had an easy easy time picking the the selection for this day there were really
there was a lot of good stuff so yeah I want to give special thanks to Cooper who sits in the back he does all the recording in his free time and using his own budget so all the talks except for the one stats that didn't want to be recorded will be put online so you can view them later if you want to obviously we want to thank the sponsors who made all of this happen without their financial support this wouldn't be possible and especially Microsoft for also sponsoring the venue so this is a great venue we have much more space than last year which made it possible for us to invite much more people so we jumped
from 70 people to 200 which is great and it's only possible because we have this great menu since we want to be at this venue again hopefully if we are allowed to please don't hang we really want to get back here and if you if you mess this up for us we're gonna be sad last but not least I want to thank everyone here for showing up because I think worse than planning a conference and then nobody's here and yeah okay I forgot to to show the sponsors sorry about that well you can see them all around and one more thing I want to thank the people who have back up talks ready who weren't
selected but who still said well if you need someone to jump in I can have my talk ready nevertheless and we actually needed one of those so we have one scheduled change the formal methods to the rescue experiences coding in a theory improver talk the the speaker couldn't show up unfortunately and we have a replacement talk bones watch managing the vulnerabilities in a known product by cell war so thanks to him for for rescuing us that's it have fun enjoy the day and I'm gonna go over to Anna to chair the first session thanks Frederick you
