So let me just tell you what you're going to to have this next day because it's going to be an amazing day First of all, what is b-sides? Well as you heard a long time ago in the galaxy far far away somewhere in Las Vegas 10 years ago exactly 10 years ago a group of really awesome hackers decided that they need to create a community event for the hackers an event that is not a just commercial that doesn't cost a bazillion dollars to get in and that has space for everybody and especially provides a platform for the people that are doing the next big thing, the next big research, the next big speakers, the people

that you can't see or hear anywhere else. And that's what we wanted to do here today. So, 10 years ago, B-Sides Las Vegas began. That was the first ever B-Sides in the galaxy. And now, 10 years later, there are B-Sides events all over the world. Hundreds of B-Sides events. In fact, do we have anyone here from India? I know we have some friends from B-Sides in India. Hello! We have B-Sides in Delhi. And we have friends coming in later from the Germany branches of B-Sides and from Las Vegas. Do we have anyone from B-Sides Las Vegas? Anyone here in the room? Amazing. And we're going to have guests from all over the world join us today. We have international speakers, we have surprises, and we're so, so honored to

have the third B-Sides Tel Aviv. If you want to learn more about the global B-Sides community events, check out securitybsides.org. There is going to be one in a galaxy near you, and if there isn't one, you should start it soon. So what are we going to have today? First of all, I'm your host, Karen E. Nice to meet you. All the E's are spelled with three. You can find me on Twitter and other places online. And later today, you will also meet your lovely, charming MC, Mr. Ezra Kaltoum. Give it up for Ezra Kaltoum. Yeah, he's gonna be.

Ezra and me, we're going to be with you the whole day. So give us the love so that we know that you like us and that we can continue providing this amazing event for you. Because that's why we're doing it for the community. Now, 2016 was our first ever B-Site Tel Aviv. We had a room a little bit smaller than this, about half the size, but we managed to fill it up with 250, 300 people. That was 2016. 2017, that was last year, we filled up this room. We had amazing international guests. some of them with green beards, and I hope they will be joining us later, some green or blue beards. And we had surprises and fun and trivia, and we're gonna have more of that and more

today. What did we have this year for 2018? Well, first of all, we had more than 1,000 people register, which is amazing. It shows us that this community wants an event like this, that this community needs an event like this, and it tells us, the volunteers and team, that we have the space to create more bigger community events for you next year as well. We have more than 600 people that are gonna be here today. We're expecting to have a full house later on, so you're gonna meet some new friends, gonna make some new friends, and that's awesome. We had more than 300 teams register and participate in our awesome CTF, our awesome Capture the

Flag. Did you compete in the Capture the Flag competition? Anyone here compete? Well, yes. Yes, way to go for the CTF. And the CTF winners will be announced later today at 5.55 in the afternoon, 5.55. That is when we're going to do our winner's announcement. If you are in a competing, winning CTF team, you need to be in the room to get your prize. Don't forget that. This year, we have 15 amazing talks. And we've chosen these 15 talks out of more than 80 call-for-paper submissions. That means that people from all over the world wanted to come here, share their knowledge with you, and we chose the best of the best for this event. Our CFP team read through all of the submissions, went through

all of that content to choose only the best talks for this event. So you know it's really the top 25% of those talks that were selected, and we hope next year to see more of you submitting more talks and have more space to even feature more content. And of course we're expecting an awesome after party as always. This time we have DJ Keith Myers all the way from Defcon. Keith is an awesome DJ that usually plays in the biggest Defcon parties and we have him here with us today. We also have an amazing closing keynote, Jason E Street, who is the global Defcon Group's ambassador. And he's going to be here at 7.45 to help

us close this amazing event. So stay with us throughout the day. We have beers, we have food, we have breaks. It's going to be amazing. What else do we have lined up for you? Well, to make the B-Sides sides of the force possible this year, of course, we couldn't have done it without the help and support of our amazing sponsors. So please, let's give them one big, big round of applause. Thank you to our sponsors. Thank you so much to our amazing sponsors. Thank you Cyber Reason. Yeah, they are here. You can find them. They are hiring. Talk to them. Thank you SafeBridge. They are here. Where are you? SafeBridge. They are over there. They

are hiring researchers. Go talk to them. In fact, all of our sponsors, all of the companies that sponsor B-Side do it because they want to recruit and hire the best talent. And that's the people that are in this room right now. Thank you, XM Cyber, for joining us for the first time this year. We are happy to have you. Thank you, XM Cyber. Thank you, JPMorgan Chase Technology Center in Israel. Isn't it amazing that a financial institution that also wants to hire the top technology talent comes to our Hacker event to find these people? We're so happy they are here with us. And of course, we couldn't have done it without Intel. Thank you, Intel. Thank you for your support. These are the amazing companies that help us run

this event. And these are the companies that help us make it possible to keep it free, to keep it accessible, and we hope to be able to do that for many years to come. Of course, we have our core supporters. Thank you once again Akamai and Celebrite. If you're here in the room, make some noise, and you're gonna see them outside. Akamai and Celebrite have been with us for three years, so they have been with us from the start. And thank you so much, Simpress, for the first year joining us. Hope to have you with us many years to come. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Of course, we wouldn't have this incredible space to

do this event if we didn't have a partnership with Tel Aviv University and the ICRC, Balvatnik Cyber Center. They're the ones that run the entire cyber reconference, and we're lucky that they provide us the space and opportunity to have this event with you. Thank you. Thank you. Now, I want to tell you about two special things that we have this year, two special things that we have. First of all, Checkpoint has set up a chill-out zone just for you guys with ice cream and chill-out areas. It's going to be outside on the lawn to the left. So if you feel like you're getting too overwhelmed by all the amazing content, feel free to go outside of the tent, go to the left, And on the lawn, you'll find the

chill-out zone. And now another thing that we have this year I want to tell you about, and we did this also last year for those of you who were with us, we have a partnership with PeerList. PeerList is a global community. It's an online social network for security professionals. And our speakers have provided some of their slides and some of their content on PeerList. You can find the B-Side STLV tag on PeerList. And after the event, they will be able to answer more of your questions. Our speakers will be on PeerList to answer more of your questions. You can also find content from B-Side Stel-Aviv 2017 and 2016 on PeerList. So check it out as

well. What else do we have? Well, I mentioned the amazing Capture the Flag competition we had this year. This is the amazing CTF team. If you enjoy the competition, these are the people that work night and day to make it possible for you. Give it up for the CTF team, please. Thank you. Now, just to give you a good idea, this is the overall agenda that we have today. Feel free to take a picture. You can also go to our website, bsidestlv.com slash agenda, and you can find the detailed agenda with the names of all of the speakers and the titles of their talks. But this is what we're gonna have today. We're gonna have breaks at, we're

gonna have a lunch break at 12.15. We're gonna have an afternoon break, two afternoon breaks actually. The CTF winners will be announced at 5.55. We're gonna have some of the best talks in our evening session, so stay with us. We have an amazing mystery speaker. I am allowed to say that she is a former US official, a very high ranking former US official, will join us to talk about hacking for the US government and for the good. So that's something you don't wanna miss. That will be at 6.30. And our amazing closing keynote, Jason E Street from the Global Defcon Ambassador. We're going to have lots of awesome breaks, and our breaks are an opportunity for strong troopers to talk to Jedis. This is the chance for everybody that

you don't know to get together and make new friends. Go talk to our sponsors that are hiring. Enjoy the beer, enjoy the food, enjoy the chill-out zone. This is your time to be social, and it's very important for us to provide that opportunity to you. We're also going to have the amazing after party at the end, starting at 8. That's going to be in the building, which is right to the right of the tent, to the right of the outside area. But what's really important for us is when you enjoy all of these breaks, it's really important here in the room and at the breaks that everybody be cool to one another. Be cool, be

polite, be social, don't be rude, don't be obnoxious, please. This is our conference code of conduct. And we want to make sure that we provide a comfortable, safe, respectable environment for even anybody from any type, any kind. Androids are welcome, stormtroopers are welcome. We even embrace Klingons with their consent, with their permission. Don't try to hug a Klingon without permission. It will end badly. I tried it. If for some reason you feel uncomfortable or somebody made you feel uncomfortable, please come and see me, myself, I'm Karen, or Ezra, my co-host, of the B-Side TLV team. And this is our amazing Tel Aviv 2018 team. Please give it up for them. Thank you so much. Give it up to Omer,

Oded, Yaniv, Raout, Ilan, Inbar, Elad, and Guy. This is the team that made this event possible. If you like what you saw this year and you want to join us, volunteer, support for next year, talk to us at the end of this event or maybe tomorrow morning when we wake up from the hangover. We'll be happy to have you with us in the 2019 event. So, I hope you're ready. I wish that the force will be with us today. And please, please, everybody get ready to welcome your amazing host, Mr. Ezra Koltoum. Everybody, be cool. Be cool. Ezra, the stage is yours.
